Our Purpose
The Menlo-Atherton High School Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Student Club aims to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students with ASD. Our mission is to promote understanding, acceptance, and integration of ASD students within the school community. We strive to create opportunities for social interaction, personal growth, and academic success.
Club Activities
- Weekly Meetings: Regular gatherings where members can share experiences, discuss challenges, and support each other.
- Social Events: Organizing events such as movie nights, game days, and outings to encourage social interaction and build friendships.
- Guest Speakers: Inviting experts to talk about topics related to ASD, including coping strategies, therapy options, and success stories.
- Workshops: Offering workshops on skills development, such as communication, time management, and stress management.
Our Programs
- Peer Mentorship Program: Pairing ASD students with peer mentors to provide guidance, support, and friendship.
- Academic Support: Providing resources and tutoring to help ASD students achieve academic success.
- Life Skills Training: Offering training sessions on essential life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and job readiness.
- Parent Support Group: Creating a support network for parents of ASD students to share experiences and resources.
